Winning is More Than Financial

Hey Thrive Tribe!
I know I've said several times that I'm going to be consistent with blogging and well, I lied *inserts face palm emoji*

Well, this time I'm not lying. Starting this Wednesday (9/11/2019) I will be posting blogs every week...now make sure you hold me to it (forreal, if it's 7pm on a Wednesday and a blog isn't posted GET ON MY ASS! I may have forgotten to schedule it).

Now on to today's blog post -we're going to discuss "winning." We hear this term being thrown around all time - everybody's winning, according to IG...
Social media is a TRIP, ain't it? Social media makes us think someone is winning because they're carrying a designer bag, they're surrounded by famous people, their lacefront is melted flawlessly into their scalp, they're driving a 2023 BMW, etc. But we don't know what's going on behind the scenes. These people could be depressed, broke in real life, getting cheated on, getting abused. Yeah he might have gave his girl a Chanel bag, but it could've came with a side of chlamydia. We don't know what lives these people really live, and you know damn well they aren't going to tell us the truth...

"For what's money without happiness?
Or hard times without the people you love?"

I've figured out is that "winning" is not superficial at all. Winning is internal and everyone's definition of winning is different. To me, winning in life is having meaningful relationships, being genuinely happy, being healthy, being able to take care of your basic needs, having reliable transportation, having a roof over your head, having a stable and dependable support system, & waking up everyday knowing that you have another opportunity to make a difference and that there are people (& in my case, dogs) that truly love you.

Am I where I want to be financially? HELL NAW! But all of those things I listed I have, and they are priceless. I may not have my dream BMW truck, but my Renegade gets the job done. I don't live in my dream white house with black trim (yet), but I just moved into a townhouse near Southpark Mall (if you aren't from Charlotte that's a really nice area). I am blessed with amazing friends, an amazing family, an amazing man, and 4 dogs who love the hell out of me. How tf can I lose??? I'm really content with my life right now. I feel loved. I feel secure. I am happy. and most of all - I feel free.

"Always gon' be a bigger house somewhere, but nigga feel me
'Long as the people in that motherfucker love you dearly
Always gon' be a whip that's better than the the one you got
Always gon' be some clothes that's fresher than the ones you rock
Always gon' be a bitch that's badder out there on the tours
But you ain't never gon' be happy til you love yours"
